Mission Statement

St. David & St. Patrick (D&P) is a vibrant Anglican Church community in northeast Guelph.

At its heart are people who strive to be the face of Christ in the world through welcoming everyone, supporting each other in our spiritual journeys, exploring our theological and liturgical roots, and serving our community and our world.

Core Values

1. We are inclusive:

Everyone is welcome—regardless of race, sexual orientation, ability or background—because the spirit of God lives and breathes in each created being. We seek to build a space where the generations can worship together.

2. We are involved:

We encourage lay ministries, recognizing that everyone brings unique gifts and abilities as a contribution to our rich and diverse community.

3. We are a loving, caring community:

D&P seeks to be a place of sanctuary, healing and peace—a place to find companions on the journey.

4. We are spiritual:

We recognize that the foundation of our Christian lives is a deep and active relationship with God through Jesus. We explore worship, prayer, meditation and other spiritual practices in order to open our hearts and lives to God's life-giving spirit.

5. We are liturgically creative:

We value the liturgical traditions that form the foundation of our worship, while welcoming new words and forms which provide renewed relevance and meaning to our worship.

6. We explore:

Knowing that we are all seeking to understand God and our spiritual roots better, we encourage open, active and thoughtful theological learning and are creatively adventurous in our musical expression.

7. We reach out:

From our base as a Christian community and inspired by the example of Jesus, we are an active point of outreach to a hurting world, both close by and far away.
